Trail Horse Training

Training examples:

Your horse:

~  will be trained to cross roads being aware of traffic, but not spooked.

~  will be exposed to wooded and open one and two track trails.

~  will ride through rivers, lakes, water-puddles, and mud.  They will be acclimated so they will not bulk, and will continue forward safely.

~  will be trained to go over downed trees whether it requires a big step or a small jump.

~  will be trained to stand quietly for mounting.

~  will be trained to load and haul safely short distances for trail riding.

~ will gain confidence and experience and enjoy being used.

~ will learn to patiently wait (while on the trail) for riders pausing for a break.

~  will learn to be mannerly while riding in a group or when riding alone.

~ will learn to stand quietly alongside a trailer.

~  will be exposed to random things that a trail horse may encounter, IE: deer and other non-threatening wildlife, motorcycles, dogs, bikes, snowmobiles, etc.

Owners will receive bi-weekly updates and photos.

Price includes board (grain and hay), stall and turn-out.

$600 a month*

*Please note:
Only horses that are trained to ride or are at least well-started under saddle will be accepted.  I'm not interested in breaking your horses to ride -
but rather to polish them in an area where you, their owner; may not have
the skills, the confidence, the time, or the land to do so.

On average, horses in training will require 60 days; some will require
another 30 or 60 days, depending on the individual. I will also be honest
with you --- if I do not believe you have a candidate to become a safe trail
horse, I will not waste your money and I will tell you within the first 30
days.

I am also willing to work with the owners riding their horses over the
trails at the end of the horse's lessons to help teach you what to do and
how to do it yourself. The up side to that is -- we have incredibly
beautiful and serene trails here - and it would be like a mini-vacation for
you to get away, ride your own horse and thoroughly relax and enjoy the
scenery.

To insure attention-to-detail and quality training, availability is limited.  To reserve a spot for your horse, contact Anne at:  AncanMrgns@aol.com
